Frequently asked questions
If yours isn't here, message us — the answers below are mostly things people have actually asked.
Dishwasher, yes — top rack is kindest to them. Microwave, yes for reheating (up to about 120 °C); don't use them for cooking or under a grill. They are not oven-safe.
They are rated for hot food up to 100 °C and hold soup or curry without going soft for a couple of hours. They are freezer-safe, and fine in a microwave for reheating with the lid off.
In an industrial composting facility they break down in around 90 days. In a home compost bin it is slower and needs moisture. In a normal landfill they degrade far more slowly, so the honest answer is: compost them if you can. They are still a big improvement on polystyrene.
316 has molybdenum added, which makes it more resistant to salt, acid and staining — useful for tea, lemon water and anything you leave overnight. 304 (also called 18/8) is perfectly food-safe and what most good bottles use. Both are on the site; the product name tells you which.
The double-wall vacuum bottles do: roughly 12 hours hot and 24 hours cold, depending on how full they are and the weather. Single-wall bottles and the wheat-straw cups are not insulated.
They are food-grade silicone, free of BPA and PVC, and can be boiled or steam-sterilised. They go in the dishwasher and the microwave. The suction bases work on smooth high-chair trays and tables, not on textured surfaces.
